Cara Brown is a lyric soprano, committed to portraying truthful characters with depth and sincerity. She is generous, open and vibrant, both on and off stage. In her most recent operatic engagement she performed her debut in the role of Contessa in Le Nozze di Figaro in Rome, Italy. Portraying the role of Micaëla in Carmen with Vancouver Island Opera, an Opera Canada magazine review described her voice as having “enviable clarity of tone.”

Since receiving an Artist Diploma in Performance from the University of Western Ontario, Ms. Brown’s opera engagements have also included the roles of Nedda in Pagliacci, where she was described as “dolce, sweet dolce” in the Edmonton Journal, Despina in a concert version of Cosi Fan TutteMiss Wordsworth in Albert Herring and the Dew Fairy and the Sandman in Hänsel and Gretel

Ms. Brown has performed a wide range of repertoire on both operatic and concert stages. She has appeared in recitals of art song as well as crossover music in the pop and musical theatre genres. 

Cara is also on staff at Keyano College, where she teaches voice and Musical Theatre.
